add to this equation they claim to move 1 ton, 420 miles, on one gallon of fuel. At 40 miles per hour that is 144,000 secs or 7,896,960 gallons. Just how much can a freight train hold? HAAHAHAHAHA
I believe something is skewed in my calculations...I think perhaps we'll need to divide the amount of trains Union Pacific is running in order to better utilize that information being used.
CSX figures that one Train can carry 2000 lbs 420 miles on one gallon of fuel (diesel I presume). Forget the weight and lets just assume that 40 miles per hour is the start to finish average speed... that would be 10.5 hours of travel to get that ton of freight moved...10.5 hours is 37,800 secs or (its not getting any better) 2,072,952 gals used by the formula below.
Hmmm....so, if they only had one train...I could ship an alpine 870,639,840 miles.
How many Locomotives do they have? I couldnt find a statistic for it. I found reference to CSXT Locomotive Fleet and they say that they have 3917 Locomotives. Which are running at any given time?
I did find out that its suppose to take 15 hp per ton of freight on a train carrying 100 cars or 1500 hp.
All this silliness leads me to one conclusion....it doesnt really matter when, in the last 100 days, the criminals in DC have allocated nearly 9,000,000,000 dollars in debt. Thats a stack of $1000 bills 567 miles high. That's a $55,000 added tax burden on the citizens this year alone...oh, and yes, that is on top of what you already owe.
We don't have the money to even entertain the notion of paying for "our future". All that money is spent capturing our freedoms and locking them up for the next group of criminals to mess with.
You all are staring at the trees but you don't see the forest.
(pretty cool hijack huh?
