Interesting interpretation of my posting Michael.
Jerry,

my understanding was you were confirming the S3 onwards tops as black or body colour for GT ( though matching could also be ordered ex-factory at that point too)

You were then showing the Sebring car ( your very special project .... amongst a host of special projects you have) as an example of an early car from the factory with a non-black hardtop

jdoclogan:
"Straight from the Rootes factory to the Sebring race track in 1962. My Series II #41. Clearly a white hardtop. The body was Seacrest Green."

Just pointing out the works race cars are a different reference than the production cars .

Another side note is other than the roof vents.. laterly at LM they also trimmed the drain gutters over the windows to reduce drag on the straights... but the biggest benefit to high speed and aero was banned.... the front registration plate....this was fitted on the stock bracket and worked as a crude splitter ..it reduced lift and drag and added a few mph to top speed but was forced to be removed by the scrutineers... Now I've truly gone off topic....

Mine's an S3, but I have had a black and a red hardtop on at various times.
I like no-top the best, but I think the matching red looks better than the black

Your car is beautiful! I'm partial to the red on red.
