To check clearance I use aluminum foil balled up. Just put a ball of it on top of the carb and close the hood, it will tell you how much room you have.

I've converted to the 2.8 Cologne motor with a 390CFM Holley and offenhauser manifold. Does anyone know what air cleaner would fit without modifying the hood?

I used an Edelbrock 43661 and cut it down by 1 inch. Blue matches my car. Bought from Amazon.

I trimmed the circumference of the flexible blue filter.

This is how mine ended, I've got Dan R motor mounts. I had to get a taller filter element since the butterflies hit the top of air cleaner. I looked for a part number on the drop down air cleaner but could not find one. Believe it or not, this filter does not hit on the bonnet.

I use a K&N filter. Let me know if you wish details.The guy I bought the S-beam from has a really nice hood with a scoop. I can contact him if you like. Color is Dark (Commodore ) Blue

When I installed the Hi rise VCs as the Ford and V6 Sunbeam shown here it would not clear the 72-76 COurier Brake MC. (Centrix) Had to have a pro cut down corner corner near firewall. $175...ouch
Hope POWERED BY FORD fares better.
