Mark, remember that Doug cut up a rust free series 3 GT that Scott once owned for parts to restore my series 4 and he used a right rear fender from a beyond repair MK 2 Tiger for that same restoration. I also know of a couple nice series 2 Alpines that were cut up to aid in restorations of two other cars. Those are the facts.Ditto. Too nice to cut up!!
It looks like a really nice car! No offense Bob, but I hope it finds a home that will keep it intact....buying this car and cutting it up for the needed panels
Nope. I've done it too, although in my case it was a SIV that had been butchered in an attempt to create an Alger. Buying and cutting up a car like this is certainly your right. I just hate to see it happen to one that appears to be this nice.you know I'm not the only one here that has cut up a car in order to restore another.
If you want to cut up a $13K Alpine for some panels, I may have a deal for you. Check out http://forum.sunbeamalpine.org/index.php?threads/bad-day.26556/Nice car with good body panels. The cost of getting needed panels out of the U.K. for the next HLM restoration could be more than buying this car and cutting it up for the needed panels. It is close to me. Hmmmmm!
But Johnny did it! That is blaming others for your actions. You are old enough to know better. No offense taken Jim but you know I'm not the only one here that has cut up a car in order to restore another.

Sure, if she's the one that says that it is okay because other do it. If she says she doesn't give a damn what others think - well, that's fine with me, but its hardly in the spirit of the SAOCA. Maybe we should discuss deleting the second half of this from the Home Page.
