World's smallest V12 engine.

If this is the guy I think it is, I saw something about him a few years ago and apparently they do run!

Fascinating miniature engineering. The only thing that annoys me is that I can't tell if it's really fired up at the end, or just being run by an electric motor somewhere. If it is under power, it's amazingly quiet and produces noiseless and invisible exhaust.

The article says it's powered by compressed air. Now on youtube there is a 1/4 scale monster truck with a supercharged V8 in it.

Nick, I usually go to this show every year, and it's basically right in our back yard...

If you want to see really small engines that really do run, this is the place to see them. Steam, gasoline, sterling... all sorts of motors, and they're stationary, in boats, planes, cars and tractors. Plus there's lots of good deals on tools and such... it's a machinist's paradise.

Nick

We have a guy in our club who makes these minature engines. From the one cylinder all the way to the modern V8s.They run and they do make some noise.

He has plans to do the V12 but he says don't hold your breath as it takes a few years and then some

Are you close to York? I grew up just a few miles west of York.

Mike, I am about 1/2 hour east, in Ambler (near Fort Washington), but I was speaking figuratively about it being in our 'back yard'... in other words, it's 'really close'! :)
