I replaced my windshield, while the frame was on the car, as the frame did not have to be painted. Let me tell you it was quite easy with the help of my wonderful wife. It took us about 30 minutes for the glass and gasket (2 tries total) and about 90 minutes for all the stainless trim. When installing the SS trim my wonderful wife suggested that we use a thin string, like we did to get the windshield gasket in, to install the SS trim and it made all so much easier --- great wife I have :). So yes, the windshield can be changed out while the frame is attached to the car --- but I think my wife made all the difference :). Oh happy day!!!
