What to look out for when purchasing a alpine?

What are some of the problem/trouble areas when looking at buying a alpine. What determines you not to go ahead with the purchase? Where does rust typically hide? I plan on doing the v6 swap and I just want a good platform to work off of. I've found a 64 alpine thats not perfect but might be good enough as its a complete car but has a ding on the front right panel. " Its hard finding Sunbeams in Edmonton Alberta CANADA!!!!" :(
