What holds the splined turn signal arm into it space in the steering column?

Thank in advance of your reply.

Maybe a little non permanent loctite or a thin wrap of some kind around the splines-- jb weld is a bit too good for this application. I want to hold it in place not turn it into a different car part.

Thanks all

The intent of the original design is to make it a permanent assembly. Seems JB Weld is a reasonable step.

Hi

I used epoxy resin (which jb weld is) on the turn signal arm that kept falling out and it held it firmly in place. I recommend that approach.

Before you put it back in permanently, you might want to think about refreshing the plastic cover on the arm. I have not done this, but others here have said that heat shrink tubing works nicely for that purpose.

Additionally, rubber spray coating looks real good on the arm, plus it covers the "finger-end-of-the stalk" really nice :)
