Synchro.. detent springs....Doubt there's an easy answer for my 1966 SV popping third. Probably a syncro????
Coming to Bowling Green? I've got one that I think is good I could bring. DavidLikely a worn shift fork.
If the synchro is worn it can jump out ..usually if lifting off the throttle or accelerating when you've just changed in. Similar to detent issuesSyncro doesn't have anything to do with popping out of gear. Check the workshop manual for the most likely cause - I'm pretty sure it says detent spring. There is a procedure for fixing it.
