Starter Recommendations for 2.8l

Buying a starter and was wondering if any ol' starter from Summit would do. Any recommendations?

Depends on your engine and flywheel.

If mutt ii flywheel, then a starter to match.

Ranger/Bronco flywheels should have matched starter.

I've heard you can use one from the 4.0 with automatic also. Maybe Dan R has one to compare?

Ive used the standard mutt starter from NAPA since my original build with 24,000 plus miles on it now. The engine has .030 over pistons head shaved very minor to cleanup. Turns the engine good and has lasted well.
