The top photo is not Rick descending on the stadium, it's actually Swiss pilot Yves Rossy becoming the first man to fly successfully with wings. Powered by four tiny jet engines, Rossy cruises over the Alps in November 2006.

Notice that the wing is folded for flight. Obviously it is to give more wing area and lift as he slows when coming in to land. Either that or he operates from an aircraft carrier:)

That picture was taken upon exit from the aircraft by a photographer, he has not unfolded the wings and lit the jets yet. No hope of a formation shot after the jets are lit unless you are in a BD-5J or something like that. He has never landed the wing only decended under canopy, the landing gear is too weak. You tube or google has footage of his flights over the alps hugging the ridges. It is spectacular. Another form of the sport is a group of French skydivers are using bat wing suits and getting incredible glide ratios out of them again hugging the ridges over the Alps. I will see if I can find some links. BIG Cahuunas!!!
