As my motor oil needs a change, and the motor oil drain plug currently is dripping / leaking, am looking for a new copper seal ring (washer?)
I would be happy if anyone has the correct dimensions (in metric mm) ?
Thank you, Andy

My notes:

Oil drain plug, gearbox drain plug, differential drain plug (1/2" BSP)
  • Thread-on style washers (0.763" ID x 1.020" OD x 0.072" thick)
  1. Rootes 5220713
  2. Sunbeam Specialties DG5
  • Flat washers (don't thread on)
  1. The original OD drain plug copper washer was 0.825" ID x 1.062" OD x 0.058" Thick
  2. Bought Uxcell part # a14122500ux0643, which is 21mm x 27mm x 1.5mm (converted size: 0.827"x1.063"x0.059") (actual size: 0.836"x1.054"x0.057") on Amazon in March 2019. These washers fit perfectly on the Moss Motors replacement OD drain plug part # 466-640.

Hello Mike
Thank you for your helpful information.
So I will purchase 21mm x 27mm x 1.5mm (all three Oil Plug Screws are the same).
Helpfull is your reference and dimensions/table on:

www.dormanproducts.com/p-2489-097-831cd.aspx[

As I am not so familiar with british/US standards/abbreviations/terms. I have to consult quite often aunty goolge .. she knows a lot.
You mention "OD" , does this stand for OilDrain or OverDrive?
I also can't figure out what a "Thread-on style washers " exactly is.
Thank you, Andy

Speaking for the other Mike - OD is outside diameter, ID is inside diameter, thread on means it doesn't drop over the threads, but must be screwed on to the plug.

Hello Mike O'D
Thank you for your info. Now it is all clear for me.
I am familiar with DIN (Deutsche Industrie Norm) or ISO, they are standardized with the letters D/d/h or d2/d1/s , depending on the application. Working on my Alpine is always a excursion in different measures of (inch/cm).
Although the fun with driving and working on the Alpine is a global standard *laugh
Thank you again, Andy

Hello Mike
Thank you for your update.
All clear now for me. With your measures I have no problem to buy the correct washer locally, as they are pretty standardized, ww.
I believe "Thread-on" is to prevent the washer getting lost during an oil change in the workshop.
But both types would be suitable to seal against oil leakage.
Are there any experiences with copper washers which do "squash" or crimp during tightening?
(Anyway, a normal/standard copper seal washer will also do..)
Andy
