Series I or II rear end wanted.

Looking for a complete rear Axel from a Alpine S-I or II with a over drive rear end ratio.
Wheel stud to wheel stud preferred. I'm told it's a bolt in for my Husky. Mine's got a super tall
feeling Minx rear that's making it hard to take off from a stop with the twin cam.

I'd love to know if I could just get away with buying the pumpkin guts, unsure if it's a plug & play swap though...., hence the ad for the whole enchilada.

Closer to Colorado the better, but we're up for a drive ;-)

Cheers,
Cris

Cris,

Are you using the rear that was in the Minx that supplied you the engine? If so, it SHOULD be a 3.89. The axle spline counts changed between most S I&II and when that Minx was produced, so be aware. There are other changes with the housings. Yes, you can change just the pumpkin if the spider gear splines match the axle splines. If you still had the OE rear for your Husky, depending on the model of your car, it should have had a 4.78, 4.44, or 4.22 ratio.

Good luck & HTH,

Don

Thanks Bill & Don for the replies. Sorry I haven't replied sooner, managed to slip on some ice & screw my wrist up pretty good. Get to go see a surgeon, and it's the 'wiping hand' too so yeah.
I've also been chasing an electrical demon on the wife's 1963 dodge townwagon. And trying to find a job ;-p

Bill if you could send me a message with prices for what you have or think you might have that would be great.

Bill, my original Husky rear must have had the 4.78 because driving 65 mph sounded like a was going a bazillion, sadly no tach installed then biut I'll guess it was waay up there.
