Anyway, I have a "core type" Series 1 Engine for sale ( I think ??)

With a Series 4/5 Aluminum Head and dual Carbs

Still have the Car and any pieces that you might need

Let me know.

Thanks for looking

I think you also have a series I aluminum head and dual carbs. Pictures aren't clear, but that's my guess.

Carbs are the down draft Zeniths on a factory manifold for sure. They are likely to be SI or SII as the manifold doesnt have the pickup of the S3 twin Zenith setup. Not sure about casting date on the head, but seems to indicate 1960 (whihc would be SI).. anyone?

Series 1 head and Carbs for sale.

$250 for head and carbs.

let me know. PM

Thx,

If you really want to sell the head and intake you'd better post a photo of the bottom side of the head.
The corrosion on the top side means the bottom cant look too good.

thx,

The head does not look as good as you think.
The cooling passages are toast, as could be surmised by the looks from the topside.

IMO the head is only usable if welded, otherwise for metal scrap.

The intake and carbs look salvageable.

In my opinion the coolant passages look good.

Along with the seats and the Surface of the combustion area.

If any one is seriously interested let me know.

thanks,

thanks,

The passages are larger than the gasket holes in the crescent areas.
Common problem on aluminum heads due to corrosion.

Seats may look great as might the chambers but the head will never hold water with passages that look like that.

jj, If I were to install that head (and not sweat the details), what would you use to clean it up? WD or something alcohol based or ?

Thanks for your PM jj. Guess I'm not really interested at that price in that shape, but i guess the aluminum material itself is worth a bit?
