I am tracing a noise in the lower end of a 1600 engine.....question is is the oil pump different in a series 4 1600 than in a series V 1725? Do they interchange? Is the cam any different and do they interchange? thanks in advance

The SV oil is very much different than the 1600 (S2-IV).
Cams and pumps are NOT interchangeable between 3 and 5 main engines.

The number of teeth on the pump (and cam) are different between the two and MUST match the number of teeth. One is 12 the other 13 but I dont recall which.

You CAN use a 1725 cam in a 1600 so long as you fit the correct #of tooth pump drive on the oil pump. Theoretically vice versa too but no one does this.
