I have a 67 series V , started losing oil pressure, when I first got it 1n 1/23 I got it running and had 40 lbs of pressure after a year of rebuilding , put it on the road and started small trips , it would run forty on the road and 25 lbs at idle , after 30 miles it dropped to 25 on the road and 0 at idle . I pulled the motor and found the oil pump pick up screen was plunged with gasket material [ no metal ] , I ordered a new pump but it would not line up with the distributor as the new pump slot that fits into the bottom of the distributor was cut straight and the distributor pin that goes through the shaft is off centered . I checked the old pump and the slot was also off center , my manual talks about timing the motor with the off set pin and slot . my parts supplier only has the straight cut pump and distributor , has any one else run into this ?
