Hi All,

Looks like a great site! I've been a british car nut for years, having owned a Triumph GT6, TR6, and an early Austin Healey 3000. I've got the opportunity to purchase a '65 Tiger that has been sitting for 26 years. It will be an agressive restoration to say the least, and I'm sure I'll need lots of parts. I would appreciate any input from you guys as to sources you use or have used!

Welcome to the addiction, Arvonian... You seem to have the same personal problems as I do - Standard Vanguard, MOWOG and Rootes products, all jumbled in one garage.

With regard to Rootes parts sources, my personal favourites are, in no particular order:
Sunbeam Specialties - http://www.rootes.com
Classic Sunbeam - http://www.classicsunbeam.com
Rootes Parts - http://www.rootesparts.com/
Alpine West Midlands - http://www.sunbeam-alpine.co.uk/

There are a host of other suppliers for odd bits like wiring, gauge repairs, interiors, etc., but the folks above can supply you with 95% of what you need, and if not, they can usually point you in the right direction to get it. They are all friendly and helpful and a pleasure to do business with.

Another source is Victoria British.. however, IMHO you should avoid them unless you can't find the part elsewhere... they don't seem to have a clue about our cars, the parts are sometimes not the best quality and/or the correct fit, and they can't offer you any technical help whatsoever if you have an issue... that being said they do have some parts you can't get anywhere else, so I list them here for you:

There's also a good list of suppliers here, and although it's not terriby up-to-date, it does list some of those odd-bits suppliers and as such it is helpful:

Thanks for the info.! It will definitely come in handy. The good news is that this car is bone stock, with the exception of the Moto Lita steering wheel, and as far as I can see is not missing anything...
