LED substitutions

loose_electron mentions multiple LEDs in a recent post. Does anyone have LED substitutions for park/turn/brake/any bulbs that fit the factory sockets? I am about to start rewiring the car and would like to convert to LEDs if possible. If you did convert to LEDs, what changes did you make to the car?

You can purchase LEDs from fellow Sunbeam enthusiast Joe Parlanti: http://www.velocesolutionsllc.com/

I have installed LEDs from Joe for the exterior bulbs, headlamps, and dash gauges. They are direct replacements for the original bulbs. You will need to swap out the original OEM thermal flasher unit when you install LEDs for the markers. Joe provides a drop-in electronic flasher replacement.

I upgraded to LEDs about 5 years ago, before Joe started selling his kit. If you are interested in buying the pieces individually, I bought mine from SuperbrightLEDs.com and posted details on what I learned. Some of the links I posted at the time are probably out of date, but this discussion - the whole thing, not just my additions, might prove useful for anyone looking into LEDs. http://forum.sunbeamalpine.org/index.php?threads/brighter-alpine-taillights.20399/page-2

But, FWIW, if I were doing this today I would probably just buy Joe's kit. He is a good guy, very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I've bought LED instrument lights from him and also his brake light flasher (http://www.velocesolutionsllc.com/Brake-Light-Flasher-Flasher-1.htm), which I like a lot.
