We went to bed about 11 expecting a lot of rain and some wind and woke up at 4:00 a.m. to find a hurricane, not a tropical storm, on top of us. It dumped about 6" of rain and caused some power outages but not much more other than lots of limbs down. Ripped the top off the gazebo over the hot tub and turned my boat cover (aluminum tubes with a tarp top) into what looks like a pile of pick-up sticks. They say winds hit around 80 mph in Beaumont, but it passed through very quickly. After Rita we've been extra cautious down here, but this one took everyone by surprise.

Glad you didnt loose the roof this time. It was quite a surprise Im sure. Lake Charles only got about 2 1/2" of rain.
