Help needed in Houston

Found this on the STOC web site, could someone in the Houston area possibly help out?

I recently inherited my uncle's car collection. Among his cars is a Sunbeam Alpine, Series V (Tiger?). Unfortunately, I live 2 1/2 hours away from my uncle's home. I saw that the cars were in fair shape (dirty) a couple of weeks ago, but when I sent some guys to bring back the cars, I was told they had been severly vandalized--especially the Sunbeam, and they suggested I sell them all for scrap iron. I do not know what to do. I don't know if the car is salvageable. It was my uncle's favorite--and I'd hate to think it was destroyed. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

PS Just wondering who these guys were and if possibly they want the cars for them selves??

I'm going over to Houston (from Beaumont) Thursday. Could take a look, but she says the cars are 2 1/2 hrs. away. Where are they?

Sam- You may be SWIMMING to Houston, as much rain as we've had lately! Seriously, keep us posted if you get a chance to see the car.

Just the usual down here, though up about 30% from normal. I noticed in the Chronicle today that Lubbock was 100+% above normal. We didn't get much out of that storm that did so much damage up in Tyler. Frankly it's better than a couple of years ago when we didn't see any rain for a couple of months before Rita hit.

What, by the way, does he mean by the "STOC website"? Isn't this an English club? I couldn't find anything there.

Sorry I went on vacation right after I posted this.

I have had several e mail exchanges with this lady and she does seem to be on the up and up. She does live in Houston Mississippi.
Here is her last e mail:

Thank you. I went to the website and registered but it won't let me in yet. Perhaps it needs a day.
I saw the messages in the Forum. I am in Houston, Mississippi. The cars are in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

I'm going next week to see the cars and take care of some other business from my uncle's estate. I'll take some pictures of the cars there. I'm told the hood, top, trunk, fenders, and doors have all been ripped off, glass broken, seats cut with a knife, etc. There's more than just a Sunbeam--11 cars in total. There's some T-birds, old Fords, Chryslers, an old Chevy, Dodge, an army truck and ambulance. Most are in bad shape. There was only room in the shed for 3 cars. The others have been out in the weather for several years. The Sunbeam was one of the 3 in the shed.

Is there anyone in the area that may be able to take a look??

Will keep you all posted on the e mails she sends me.
