Hey this is our entry we are building for the challenge in Gainesville Fl . We have about 5 months . 302 ford power with a chevy S 10 rear end , ranger front rotors , thunderbird calipers . Should be pretty fast .

We have original steering we will see when we get the motor in .We entered an mgb with a 4.0 ford auto last year . We ran a Triumph Stag chevy 350 couple years ago .

Is this for drag racing or circuit?

If you are keeping the alpine steering box you will have to mount the motor quite a way forward.. the intial miles prototype was like this.. you cant fit an engine fan.. no issue use a nice ally radiator and electrics up front.. but the weight is going to be very far forward and car will handle like a monkey wresteling a football. :eek:

Is a concours , auto cross , quarter mile drag strip at the gainesvill Fl Gatornationals track iy is a 3 day event . Cars are under a budget of $2012 dollars . We might get a different oil pan and we have a salvage yard full of options for steering . There is no money prize just cheap trophies and memories small mention in the magazine . Priceless

We use what ever is free or super cheap . This challenge Alpine has a clutch pedal , so we are thinking of going manual . It really is just what ever is available and works . When we pulled the motor from the mustang we started dreaming a spitfire body on toob chassis , mustang front and rear end . Next years challenge car .

Sunday morning motor clean and oil and store , waiting on engine cleaning brush set for complete interior hole scrub . Had to order that online . So we might be able to rebuild next weekend .
