Engine Removal Question

As I'm now in the process of removing my engine, I read in the WSM, "Remove outer exhaust manifold and scuttle bracing tube." Does that mean remove BOTH the exhaust manifold AND bracing, or just remove the bracing which, incidentally, is with the exhaust manifold? Silly question, but consider the source.:D

Howard,

I haven't pulled an Alpine engine in two decades (far too long away from Sunbeams!) but I think the braces come off, and then the more out of the way the better...but I don't see why the exhaust manifold has to come off. The connection to the double downpipes of course, but wouldn't the exhaust manifold clear the engine bay as the engine was removed?

Good luck and please post what works for you.

Allan
