Dash Pad NOS or reproduction

I purchased a dash pad about 12 years ago and never took it out of the box, my memory is failing me, I believe it was advertised as NOS when I purchased it, I have someone interested in purchasing it but need to confirm what I have and then find a reasonable price to sell it for.

Here's a few pics, what do I have, can you tell if this is NOS or repro

Thanks

Hi there, Git!

From the looks of your dash pad I can't tell whether it is NOS or a repo.

I have a nice Repo (from SS ) in the Shop, so I'll go check in a while...

I think the bottom is the key! I have one of Rick's in my basement that is at least 25 years old and the bottom looks the same as Dan's: Black. The repros are one piece formed plastic, while the originals were vinyl bonded to foam. I've only seen the undersides of cracked originals when removing them from cars, but Gitsmart's looks NOS to me.

Thanks guys!

again sorry, still trying to resize images, I know I bought it as NOS but wanted some validity, I paid quite a bit back in 2005, have to figure out what is fair today :)

cheers

Git,

I couldnt see the grain when i was looking at the pad. There were 2 types of dash pad used in production. Like the interiors the vynil grain changed. The early cars sI-IV to the mid tiger had a more textured pattern. Later they switched to a smoother finish ( same goes for the GT door top waist rolls) Iirc Ricks repros for both are based on the later texture.

If yours is the early one i would say its more valuable as the repros are fine for a mkia/ sv etc.. But someone doing a factory correct early car would want a NLA part

Sorry Jim. I got my dash pad from SS about 25 years ago and it was certainly yellow foam on the bottom covered by black hard vinyl. It looked identical to the first pictures.

I've never seen a factory replacement. Didn't even know one existed.

Ditto. I have a dashpad from Sunbeam Specialties (never installed) that is about 30 years old. Looks just like your photos top and bottom.

I would add that mine is installed and on there for 25 years and still looks new. So I don’t see the relevance if not NOS.
