Crazy brake pad ?

It's getting harder and harder to find good brake pads for my series 2, but I can find later series all day. I have never had a later series pad in my hand, but they look close to the same size and shape. Has anyone ever tried to reshape a later series pad to fit an early series caliper?

Sunbeam Specialties lists disc brake pads in their catalog for Series I and II, but they are more expensive than for later Series III and later Sunbeams.

Can modify later as dan suggested. Or IRC maybe the Daimler sp250 and v8 also used the same pads.. so expand the cross-reference hunt

You guys are awesome. I have been looking at the EBC Greenstuff pads, Hoping for a little more stopping power. The Alpine ones are $88.00 and the Daimler are $144.00, so it looks like I will be trimming the Alpine ones.

One advantage of more common pads are cheaper parts AND more variety.

BUT, you DO pay for the Good stuff.

I just installed a set of the same ones yesterday that I have had for 30+ years, I am not that happy with the performance. I had a set of ceramic I bought from BV in before these that stopped good, but only lasted 8000 miles and I can not find them anymore.
