looking for a little direction on drilling holes in 2.8 heads fo cooling.I read to drill two holes by the two side by side exhaust valves using head gasket as guide. can go up to 5/16 hole, drill about 1 inch deep, just through cooling passage. Hopefully this is right, and why cant you drill two more holes on other side of center piston in head where the other gasket holes are, and bigger water jacket holes correspond in the block?thanks y’all. Probably has something to do with the flow?

I purchased Sven Pruitt book on building the 60 degree (Cologne) engine to study what He recommended for my projects.

If he addressed what you are asking, I don't recall. I believe I would stick with what was done and recommended.

I think it says in the pruit book 4 holes in each head, around center piston. By the way i may have found 3 sets of v8 heads and maybe blocks. will find out in a few days thanks everyone
