Brake System Question

"Stock", but ALL New -master cyl, steel lines, rubber lines, calipers, rear wheel cylinders. The system right now is New and totally" EMPTY". * What is the best type of FLUID to use in this system ???* thanks

DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 (poly-ether glycols plus borate esters for DOT 4 and 5.1) are completely compatible.

DOT 5 (silicone) is NOT compatible with anything else!!! It is good for trailer queen show cars because it does not absorb water or damage paint, but it is compressible (squishy brake pedal) and I would not use it for a "driver."

DOT 4 is the current "mainstream" brake (and clutch) fluid and is more than adequate unless you are going hard core racing.
