Air filter Question

I am working on my Alpine getting it ready for the trip to the invasion. I was getting my order list togather for Sumbeam Specialties and noticed the air filter elements for a series-V are no longer available. Is their a replacement that works that can be ordered somewhere else?

Thanks,
Marty

I purchased a couple of sets from Classic Sunbeams. While they are a decent replacement they are lacking in 1 important aspect.
The backfire pipes in the centre are only glued in which some kind of hard brittle substance which breaks away quite easily. I ended up soldering mine in place which worked really well with just a standard hobby soldering iron that is capable of getting to around 820F.
If you decide to do this you'll need to clean up the surfaces with a fine sandpaper and then, with patience, apply sufficient heat to melt your solder and keep working the surface to allow the solder to 'take'. My iron is a temp controlled unit which I cranked up to it's max temp of about 440C (820F)

I finally got the K&N filters installed that I purchased from Sunbeam specialties. I ended up using the original metal backing plates and tops. Removing the old filter material was kind of a pain though. I used a wire brush on a bench grinder to remove the paper and glue element. They are very slightly smaller in diameter than the old tin covers though. Once they are installed they do expand enought to fit quite well though.
