I made this bracket from a single piece of steel bar, approx 0.25x2x12 inches. Just drill two holes to mount onto the head, and one hole for the alternator. You also need a piece of steel tube as a spacer to mount it as you can see from the pic. The alternator is Lucas 18ACR as used on many classics. I reused the stock adjustment bracket too, just needed a slight bend in a vice.

Thanks for the pictures you posted. Does the Lucas 18ACR require a separate regulator or is it built into the alternator? With the single bar holding the alternator, how stiff is the mounting?

It says this is for left side mounting. Might not clear the header tank, and you would have to move the stock oil filter.I was looking at these, this kit mounts the alternator pretty high on the engine...

...it may say left side but if you look at the picture...the alternator is clearly on the passenger side or the right side...
