Oh yeah, now I remember. The bolt marked in the photo is indeed for the brake pedal backet, if this were a RHD car. the one on the other side of the brace is for the clutch pedal bracket. On the other side of the car the mirror image bolts are also for the brake and clutch pedal brackets, but of course reversed, the inner one being for the brake pedal bracket and also the reservoir.

you guys do know there should not be a bolt there since there is no place for it to thread into. the bolt threads into the pedal assembly. otherwise this hole has a rubber grommet that has a tip about 1/4 inch long.
