are you reffering to the mesh gause type cleaners, or the metal "batwing" with large canister attachment?

Also, the iconic wire mesh "Cooper" filters are fastened to the Zeniths with a clamp.
Probably a clamp is not needed as the filters press on snugly, but to be exact, each filter has a clamp to tighten so the filter doesn't come off during bumpy driving.
Absent a clamp, a radiator hose clamp works fine, and is invisible as it is under the filter.
