Wilwood master cylinder

While moving things around and cleaning my shop I found the Wilwood 3/4" master cylinder I purchased a year ago. Now if my $500.00+ Classic Gauge set would magically appear! Even the Tan Top would be nice, but I know that will not happen. Anyway, I am happy with what I found and the 3/4" master will be fitted as soon as I clean the firewall.

It is a single chamber master. I ran single-chamber masters for decades and felt safe with later model brakes on old cars. I'll admit I prefer dual chamber units but space is also a consideration. I will have a proportioning valve for the rear line, new shoes/pads, new master cylinder, wheel cylinders and all new lines, so brakes should be adequate. Gutting the engine compartment is my next task, after I build a custom POINTS DISTRIBUTOR. YES, points! I have a PerTRonix unit in my 65 Mustang but keep a new points unit in the trunk in case the electronics craps-out. On my long trip to Tennessee it felt good to know I had a way to keep going if the modern electronic unit fails. Points worked for 75 years as the only way to trigger spark plugs...and it worked. Modern triggers are much better but old points do not care about heat or EMP damage. They are very rare but EMP's do knock out electronics equipment. MY degree is in electronics and we are overdue for a major sun-storm...think sun-spots. Back in the 70's we had a minor episode but electronic ignitions were new and rare.
