Walmart is the devil. The started the downhill slide of American businesses by trying to set up their suppliers in china and strongly pushing them to shut down here And move over there. I saw a news story several years ago with the guy who owns snapper lawnmowers. He said they kept pushing him to shut down his factory in georgia I think it was and they would set him up in china and handle everything. If not they would probably stop selling his lawnmowers. He basically said f you to them and pulled them put first. That was probably 5 years ago so I don't know if that's one of the rare things made in USA still or not.

Simplicity also tried having a go with Walmart and after a year, gave them the finger. Decided their future was best served by sticking with the independent dealers. A very scary thought to a smallish outfit like Simplicity is that once the dealer network is kaput, they are at the mercy of the mass merchandisers. They have no mercy.

The manufacturers that set up in China eventually will pay a huge price for there lack of Patriotism. The world economy will only support a unidirectional cash flow for a limited period of time. The cards will implode and the manufacturers that have any capability at all here in the USA or their homeland will be in a good position. Just a matter of how ugly things need to get before the turn around. Buy made in USA if possible.

There's a pretty good documentary about this I saw on netflix about this. Something like walmart: the high cost of low prices. Kind of like I heard on the radio the other day. They were talking about all this depression stuff and go to talking about Henry ford. Said everyone was outraged when he decided to pay his employees $5 a day. They said it was to much, to which he replied... People have to make at least $5 a day to be able to buy one of my cars. That's what's happening jere now. Everyone wants to be paid the maximum or charge the maximum for what they do but not pay anyone anything for what they buy. You see it even on here with used parts. That's the mentality that started this spiral down.

IM sure thats for the tax breaks, not because theyre nice guys. They try to not even have full time employees at the store level and they use to assist their employees on how to get government assistance if they had children since they offered no benefits.

1. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 235 years to get it right and it is broke.

2. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 75 years to get it right and it is broke.

3. The War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 46 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" without making a dent in the poverty rate.

4. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 45 years to get them right and they are broke.

5. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 72 years to get it right and it is broke.

6. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 40 years to get it right and it is broke. The taxpayer has in the past 18 months been forced to give tens of billions to Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, and neither of them show any sign of becoming viable.

(Passing note: The three largest recipients of campaign funds from F. Mae and F. Mac were: Barry Obama, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. Republican efforts to clean house at these two corrupt organizations were blocked by ... Frank and Dodd, who declared up to a week before they crashed that they were doing just fine, and it was all Bush's and the Republicans' scare tactics).

7. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 33 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

To Obama and his cabinet: None of you have had any experience whatsoever of running a company, meeting a payroll, filling out government forms, etc. With the exception of the Community Organizer, you're all eggheads that come from the cloud-cuckoo land of academia, or are ex-lobbyists, or lawyers, or radical socialists. Or all three. You and the rest of Washington have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM AND TO REDUCE UNEMPLOYMENT AND PUT THE ECONOMY RIGHT? We should kick you all out and hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

Maybe a clue to the disparate experiences is that Wal-Mart employees have resisted being "organized" so that union thug chiefs can pocket part of their earnings, whereas more than half of all state, local, city and federal workers are unionized.
