Late summer weather in SE Minnesota along the Mississippi is typically very comfortable. Morning temps often in the middle 60's with daytime highs in the high 70's-low 80's. We spent the third week of September with a car club in La Crosse, just down the river from Winona. We drove through Winona several times. I couldn't wait to tell Barb we would be returning to see her reaction. She can't wait! While returning to Elmer's doesn't excite her, the area is beautiful and she is thinking about getting a bottle of wine and spending hours drinking wine and looking at the River.
Jack, we want to make sure you are aware of the Soldiers Walk in Acadia, WI. Very nice experience and a great effort put forth by a small community. It would make an excellent place to stop on any tour you might be putting together.

To keep everyone posted-
We are about ready to sign the contract with the hotel when it is received. We will have a block of forty rooms, a parts/hospitality room, access to water for car washing and a roped off area in the parking lot.
We are working on the Invasion schedule and will have that and the registration form ready by the end of the month.
Here are some of the possibilities we are working on-
Thursday -
Registration, meet & greet, parts room setup
Friday -
Morning tech session followed by lunch at the Lakeview Drive Inn then
tour along the Mississippi River with stops at Elmers Auto and Toy Museum in Fountain City, drive north on the Wisconsin side crossing the river at Nelson and then drive down the Minnesota side with a stop at Lark Toys in Kellogg and back to Winona. Then a late afternoon tech session follwed by dinner on your own
Saturday -
Poker Run Rally in the morning followed by lunch and then a car show at Lake Park. After the car show drive to La Crosse and cruise the river on a paddlewheeler for the awards banquet.
Sunday -
Informal brunch in the morning at an Irish Pub
FYI, the Lakeview Drive Inn has a cruise every Wednesday evening if anyone is interested iin coming early to the Invasion.
