What distributor is this??

I went to go tune up and swap the points to electronic in my latest series 5, and was surprised to find a distributor that I am not familiar with and cannot identify. It has a flatter push in distributor cap, and different internals. The engine vin is from a series 5.

Anyone know what this is? My pertronix kit is not compatible with it, I have a full aftermarket pertronix distributor from SS that I was going to install… anyone have ideas if that will still be compatible?

Thoughts?

Add plug wires to your list of replacement parts. #3 looks in bad shape.
Yep! Sadly, this car has some rodent damage and I only recently took it into my care. Already have new plugs, wires, and various electrical components on order for replacement to get it up and running again.

Any thoughts on the distributor? :)

You have a 1725 engine as indicated by the oil stick going through the block. The distributor is most likely a D25. It should have that marking on the side of the casing.

That cap and rotor look nothing like what I'm accustomed to seeing. You will need to look all around the body to see if there are any markings.

Having issues with a Pertronix in this type of Dist. here:

If you have a complete Pertronix distributor I cannot imagine any problem installing that on your 1725 engine.

Well, it’s been fun guessing with everyone! Pulled the distributor out and replaced it with a Pertronix.

Turned out the muster was a 45D4 Lucas. Not sure how it made its way into this car.
