Tom Hayden here on the Forum, goes by Tom H an excellent source for our Sunbeam instruments.

Another option is Mike Mizrahi, www.britishspeedo.com. He was the main technician at Nisonger before their flood, and is now out on his own. Nice guy (but so is Tom Hall)

Toms done many tachs for me over the years. He's a top notch electrical engineer and does

The Nissonger guy will fix your tach, but it will be stock. Tom H. does more than that - he upgrades the tach with newer technology to eliminate many of the design issues with the original Smiths instrument.

Was puzzled by the response to my post above, so checked with Mike Mizrahi at Britishspeedo.com.
He also puts in a circuit board, so the tach is updated for both points and electronic ignition like Pertronix. I confused Tom Hayden (Tom H) with Tom Hall in CA, who also updates Sunbeam tachometers, as well as a myriad of other services.
Let's hope we continue to have access to such services. David
