Wally Swift showed me pictures of this car sometime before he passed away. I got the distinct impression he had a financial interest in this "project" and I wondered if that was squared up with his heirs after he passed. Easier for me to stay away from this one.

The details I know about the car are it is located in Peotone, Ill.... has a log book from the early 80's - driver/owner R. Conrad. Was blue... ran under #21 (think that is what the current owner said)

I hadn't heard of the driver but my records don't go much further than 1970 - so few Alpines were running into the 70's (not that there were that many racing at the national/divisional level inthe 60's)

Mike,

There doesn't appear to be any connection with Wally. Are you sure this is the same car? Kurt Bowland owned this car prior to the current owner. Kurt owns a Tiger and vintage races. Some may remember Kurt at the Mid-Ohio SVRA event in 2005 - dark green Tiger with Hardtop. I am sure Kurt can tell me more.

It appears Kurt started the restoration the Alpine when it was Mediterainian blue and raced under #21 in the early 80's. I'd be willing to bet that it was raced prior to 1980. I will have to do some more digging to find out who else might have run this car.
