Series 2 key blank?

Unless the locks have been tampered with or are very well worn, the same key won't fit into the door and trunk (boot) barrel.

Originally, series Alpines were keyed so the door & ignition had the same lock/key number. The boot & console were keyed similarly (but were different than the door/ign.) so they shouldn't match the door. The door/ign. typically used a ROOTES stamped key made by the companies Strebor or L&F whereas the boot/console only used a Wilmot Breedon key.

The keyway profiles of the three vendors differ which is why they shouldn't fit in differing locks. Your boot lock will almost certainly be Wilmot Breeden (FS series). The barrel on your door lock will have a L-shaped end where the actuating arm attaches to the door latch. Stamped on the end's side will be the keyway series and a 3-digit key number. RM series were made by L & F and ST will be Strebor. Such as: RM908.

I offer a number of NOS keys, door/boot locks in ST/RM/FS so if you determine what you have maybe I can help you out.

Lock shops in this area carry a line of keys branded DL. The door / ignition number is LR62DG . The trunk key is 62RD . Another brand of key is Cole. The door / ignition number is Y105.

Thank you. I will pull them out this weekend and take a look, there are no numbers that I can see with them installed.
