One-owner Car

Loretta

We’re selling our 1969 Sunbeam Alpine GT. This is a one-owner car. My husband bought it new. It has been sitting in the garage for probably the last 15 years. The engine and carburetor are original and have never been rebuilt.

Ed K. and Walt S., a fellow member of the SAOCA, came to have a look at the car. I had never met either of these gentlemen before. They came to give an impartial report to Wayne in Michigan. Ed said it had minimal rust and Walt told me later in an e-mail, "I think it is a fine car and a good project for someone."

It is not something you can hop in and drive off with; it will require work. But it was a very nice looking and fun car to drive, and I'm sure it can be restored to its former glory.

We can’t get it out of the garage for picture taking. The parking brake is locked up, so we just washed it up as best we could and took pictures in the garage. I wish I could find a picture of it new. I had to settle for scanning in a line drawing from the owner’s manual and “borrowing†a picture from the Internet.

Wayne in Michigan says he has one just like it and now he wants another one. But we have waited for him to come and get it for 2 months now and we just can’t wait any longer. The City is after us about my husband’s motorcycles (he has too many of them), and we have to get the Sunbeam out of the garage so we can put motorcycles into the garage. They will start fining us very soon.

This is why we are only asking $200.

Please e-mail me directly at bubblegummom@yahoo.com if you are interested.

Thank you!
