New Owner engine ID question.

Hello, Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your organization. I'm new to the Sunbeam Alpine crowd. My last two cars were a 1970 GTO Convertible, and a 1968 Mustang convertible. I know, quite a change.

Anyway, while investigating my newly aquired 1967 Alpine B395012345, interesting number, I find that the engine number is B9403336. Am I interpreting that correctly as a Series IV engine of the 1592 size? It has a single SOLEX carbureter S/2026.

OK, after reading more posts, I see the engine has a BIG 1600 in large raised letters above the starter, the dipstick goes into a tube. So assume it is the 1592?

Jim:
Your assumption is correct; you have a 3-main 1592 engine. Odd that the original 5-main 1725 is not with the car. Congrats on your new acquisition; you'll find plenty of info and support in this forum community!
