Hi Forum,

I was reading through my Alpine book last night (again) and read the article on the Hartwell stage III tuned Harrington Alpine. Are the two engine mods basically the same or did Holbay take it further?

Hartwell:
10.2:1 Compression
Twin 40mm Webers
Competition Manifolds & Clutch
Lightened flywheel
High lift cam
Etc, etc.

Not sure on the Holbay specs. Someone please fill in the blanks,

Regards, Robin.

Hartwell modified existing alpine components.

Holbay created a new head with smaller intakes, different combustion chamber shape and size, different cams, alloy sumps, different oil cooler mounting, different pistons ...

I think Hartwell modified 1600s in Series II or 3 and Holbay worked the 1725for the Arrow Range. Either would give a usefull boost in performance, But I think the Hartwell stuff would be even rarer than the Holbay ...
