I'm replacing the chrome/stainless surround around the fuel cap. I'm having difficulty getting the gromment, tank neck, surround, and the body to come together at the same time.
Any suggestions/help or ........
Thanx

Bob,

You using one of the new rings from Rootes post vintage? Place the chrome ring on the car in the panel, then put the rubber gromet in, use a wooden skewer stick to help ease the seal onto both sides. I had very bruised fingers by the end of this process!

:D Y E S, I finally got it, thanks to Michael King. Only I used one of those orange peeling devices and a little K Y jelly and it slid in place just like it was supposed to. It sure makes a difference to have that shiny suround around the gas cap. Thanks again Michael.
