On an original SII where the door restraining straps painted or left plain plated?

Thanks Puff, I thought so to but all mine have been painted during average restorations so I could not be sure.

Limey, my Series II, which was an un-restored car, had bare metal straps, but if there was any grease on them , it was long gone. Given their operation, grease would need to be applied.
