Differential Installation

Gentlemen:

Aftr months of procrastination, I am installing the replacement differential on my SIV. I do not have my shop manual with me, so I have a few questions:

- I've been told that I need to pull the axles loose from the differential. How is this done? i have removed the outer drum, the brakes, and the nuts holding the backing plate. However, the axle doesn't want to move.

Can some tell me what to do?
