Coil Spring Isolator

OK, here's one I'm sure many of you have solved over the years. I am rebuilding my front suspension on my Series II and have found all the parts needed except the coil spring isolators. I believe these are the same for all series. It's the donut-like rubber piece that sits atop the coil spring to reduce noise, wear, and account for a little rotation when the spring compresses. I have checked with VB, SS, RootesParts in Holland, Speedy Spares in UK, and Sunbeam Spares in UK to no avail. There must be a US supplier to US built cars that has an isolator that will fit, or maybe there's a company in UK I haven't found. The primary variable is, of course, the coil diameter. Anybody got a solution?

These are the same on all series. I am suprised that they are not in stock it is possible that the suppliers are waiting on them to be re-manufactured.

I noticed that you have not tried Alpine West Midlands. You may want to contact them.

I have heard that one from a Pinto will work, but you are now dealing with another obsolete car, so don't know how hard they would be to find. I understand that they are thinner, which would lower the front end of the car, (which isn't a bad idea.), so you'd need to decide if you want the front end lower.

Tony:

I actually had them on order from Sunbeam Spares and Brian e-mailed me back that he didn't have any. I suspect the world has run out of them and they simply haven't remanufactured them as previously stated. I did come across a US manufacturer, Energy Suspension in San Clemente, Cal that makes after market isolators from Hyperflex polyurethane. I will have the shop take a look at them.

Thanks for the responses.
