clutch slave cylinder

I am trying to identify the correct clutch slave cylinder for my series 2. I have bought a Luca Girling part with a 7/8" bore part number 4252-406. This was fitted to many other Rootes cars of the time but not sure if it is right for the Alpine. Unfortunately I do not have the old one to compare. Can anyone shed any light on this please?
