Alpine1 - Coil Replacement

Alpine is running poorly and I traced the problem to the coil. The new coil that I bought at Auto Zone (BWD, E40P) is labeled "No external resister required". Should I still use the "in-line resister"?

No, the new coil has a built in resisters. Using the old one would result in two resisters, weak spark and poor performance.
