Hi to all our friends in the SAOCA & all other Alpine enthusiasts over the World.

For anyone planning a trip to the UK during 2008 we hope this may be of intrest.

During the long weekend of the 1st, 2nd & 3rd of August 2008, the Solent Group of the SAOC will be inviting all Sunbeam Alpine owners and enthusiasts to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu (England) to attend the SAOC's 31st National Rally.

This world renowned facility which is home to some of the worlds most famous automobiles including two land speed record breaking Sunbeams will be the venue for the SAOC's 2008 National Meeting and for what we hope is to be one of the clubs most memorable events. http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/motormuseum/events.cfm?Action=Display&Event=156

Set in the heart of The New Forest, this unique location will provide on site facilities for both Camping and Caravanning and offer an interesting and safe environment for both families and pets. The surrounding countryside is one of the UK's most popular holiday destinations, recently achieving National Park status it offers some of Southern England's most stunning and peaceful country and coastal roads perfect for Alpine driving. For those who prefer not to camp, a list of local Hotels and Bed & Breakfast establishments will shortly be made available on the SAOC web site.

Close to many popular tourist attractions and beauty spots such as Bucklers Hard, Exbury Gardens and Bournemouth, Beaulieu is only a short drive from the M27, its proximity to both ferry ports and international airports including Gatwick and Heathrow will provide easy access not only for UK visitors but also for International guests as well.

A very special National rate has been negotiated with Beaulieu to provide all those attending full access to the Motor Museum, Palace House, Abbey, Mono Rail and Pleasure Gardens during the entire 3 days of the event.

Visible by, but protected from Beaulieu's public visitors the concourse competition will be held on a dedicated hard standing directly in front of the internationally renowned museum.

The Saturday night Dinner Dance, which will feature live music and a bar, will be held in the Brabazon restaurant just a few hundred yards from our event site.

The surrounding countryside, which is home to the famous New Forest Ponies and stunning local coastal vistas will provide the backdrop to Sundays Drive Out. In addition to the normal activities we are planning an Alpine film show, wine tasting at a local vineyard , driving tests etc. There will also be a number of spare parts suppliers in attendance for you to find that elusive part!

We are expecting several Alpines from mainland Europe and would love to see some visitors from the USA / Canada to give this event a truely international flavour

Booking forms will appear by the end of Jan 08 on the SAOC's web site
