10 spline prop shaft stuck

Well I finnaly got the OD installed in the SV, now as I try to put the prop shaft in it only slides onto the output shaft about 1" then just stops. The splines look good the seal is new...any thought will be appreciated.

Does it stop with a "clunk" or more like a "clank" ? Metal to metal? Hard stop?

Have you looked into the splines on the prop shaft? Or just the splines on the tranny?

1" sounds like it does get past the seal, right?

Is it getting stuck somewhere at the rear end of the prop shaft? Or somewhere inside the prop shaft tunnel?

If this is a newly installed OD tranny, did you shorten the prop shaft?

Have you lubed both spines- inside the tranny and inside the prop shaft? If it's an old prop shaft it might be a bit rusty.


Lots of "dumb" questions, but something obviously "dumb" is going on.
