My very first car, purchased in Kansas City, MO for $400 in 1967, was a 1960 Series I. My dad told me it was a piece of junk. its rocker panels and exhuast system were rusted out. Drove it for the summer then sold it for $350.

Saw one on a used car lot in N Cal, then started searching on West Coast Craigs List and found one in Washougal, WA, that wasnt running . Had it shipped to S Cal, and did a lot of work myself, then sent it to British European Auto in San Pedro, CA. Now everything works except the tach and trip computer
