200 hp out of a 2.8 V6? Can it be done and still be streetable?
Probably need to define "Streetable"
What does it take to get to 200 hp out of a 2.8 V6? Can it be done and still be streetable?
Exactly! Brings to mind Bill Ashby's JDM Nissan Powered Alpine. The V6 is an out dated lump.Or for half the price and work, you could get over 200 hp out of a modern inline 4. If I were to install a supercharger on my Miata 1.6 it would be close to 300 hp.
The only Sunbeam I have been in with a seat of pants feel comparable to that is Michael King's Tiger. I don't know what the HP is on Michael's car, but the engine is far from stock.
For me the nicest thing about the V6 apart from the conversion knowldge, parts and community is that the V6 in the alpine LOOKS period and factory ... There is something about nice metal rocker covers each side... Headers and the carb and intake not to mention the "period" exhaust sound that makes me like the v6 conversion.
